I have been reading about the ongoing problem with the bus system, and as a student who rides the bus often, I am quite concerned.
I was glad to read that the school is attempting to privatize the bus system, but I am worried that it may not get done before the beginning of next semester.

When Student Life asked me to provide advice for incoming students, I wanted to make sure that I didn't subject you to your first lecture here at Wash. U. So, I thought about how I might advise our 18-year-old son who will also be starting college this fall. I realized that if I got too long-winded, he would quickly turn to his iPod, so I put this advice in a form that's more digestible: a top 10 list. So, here are the top 10 pieces of advice I, as a faculty member, would give to incoming students.

This summer's first critically acclaimed film might just be about two robots falling in love.
It is the 2100s and Earth has surrendered to the mass of waste left by hordes of consuming humans. The planet is so polluted it has become a looming landscape of trashy ziggurats.

I've always been open to new ideas. Whether it be a class, or a something I hear about online or something I see on TV, I like working things out in my head.
Over the past few weeks I've been thinking a lot about taking action. In our articles we are often encouraged to make a call for action, that way after people read an article they can do something about it.

On Tuesday, Barack Obama discussed his plan to expand Bush's faith-based programs in order to help those in need. However, Obama recently stated before that he wasn't certain on his stance about the programs and would have to look into them in order to make a decision.

Much has been made by now of the Bush administration's sexed-up case for invading Iraq.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, the former Democratic presidential candidate from Ohio, went so far last month as to seek impeachment hearings against Bush for misleading the country into war on false pretenses.

I wasn't used to being charged for water. I went to Germany and experienced for the first time being charged for water in a restaurant. In fact, water cost more than the wine and beer. I had heard the rumors, but wasn't sure what to think about it.
